BACKGROUND

grw:view’s roots are in the fields of journalism, policy communications and humanitarian advocacy.

Geraldine started her career amid non-stop deadlines and tough standards in one of the most demanding media markets in the world as a reporter with Bloomberg News. Over seven years in the New York and Washington bureaus, her beats ranged from international financial markets and economic news to public health, science and medicine.

She then went on to shape and implement media strategy for U.S. and global advocacy campaigns at World Vision, a leading international relief and development agency. Focused on global health, child protection and foreign assistance, she helped ensure a high-profile presence for priority messages at events such as G8 and G20 summits, UN General Assemblies, and engagement on Capitol Hill.

For World Vision, Geraldine also developed a communications strategy around original research and reports before moving into the policy arena as senior Washington-based policy analyst for the organization and successfully branching into resource development for advocacy, including co-writing a winning Gates Foundation grant proposal.

She has contributed writing and photography for World Vision's award-winning publications and websites, as well as top U.S. news sites and blogs. She has also deployed as a trained field communicator to report on-site from emergencies and communicate the impact of programs in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
